Nutritious Vegetable Purees for Babies 5 Months Up

Apple, Sweet Potato & Broccoli Puree


75 g carrots 75 g sweet potato chopped fresh coriander (optional)

1. Wash, peel both the root vegetables. Dice or chop into cubes. Cut the broccoli florets.

2. Steam the vegetables for about 15 minutes or until completely soft.

3. You may also boil the vegetable pieces in a little water. Add vegetables and simmer for about 15 minutes. Add coriander in the last five minutes of cooking.

4. Add boiled vegetables and water into blender and blend into a puree


Sometimes when a new food is offered, your baby may resist. For example try mixing vegetables with some fruit to encourage your little one to eat the veggies. don't feel discouraged. Offer foods she will eat and try the new food a few days or weeks later.






 


There is no age restriction as such to when you can introduce certain foods. It all depends on your family history, when your baby was first introduced to solids and your doctor's advice, whichever applicable.
