Brown Rice Puree | for Babies 6 Months Up
1 cup brown rice or sweet brown rice
4 cups water
1 Put both rice and water in a pan and bring to the
boil. Simmer for about 30 minutes or till the grains
are very soft.
2 Keep checking on the water level to prevent rice from
sticking to the pan. Add more water if necessary and
cook rice till done.
3 Serve your baby the desired quantity in the preferred
consistency and freeze the rest in ice-cubes.
You must have heard that brown rice is better than white
rice and the fact is it is. Brown rice is rich in flavor
and B vitamins and minerals such as iron, manganese,
fiber and EFA so it is definitely better than white
rice. Because of the nutty taste which needs some getting
used, to it is advisable to have your baby accustomed
to it from a young age.
