Brown Rice with Apple and Cinnamon | for Babies 6 Months Up
1 tablespoon brown rice
4-5 oz Breast milk or formula
Filtered water if necessary
1 small apple pureed
Pinch of ground cinnamon
1. Ground the brown rice to powder form. Add a little milk and mix well. Pour in rest of the milk and cook for 10 minutes or till creamy.
2. Add the pureed apple and cinnamon powder. Serve when cooled
3. For variation you can prepare brown rice pudding. Add a handful of dry fruits such as figs, raisins, apricots, butter, a little brown sugar (for taste), pinch of nutmeg and milk to the pan of pre-cooked rice and cook further for about half an hour. Simmer on low heat until milk is absorbed and pudding like texture is formed. Serve it warm or cold.
