Kiwi, Banana with Barley | for Babies 6 Months Up
1 ripe banana,
1 ripe kiwi fruit
2 tbsp barley grains or milled
Milk or water
1. In a pan of water cook the ground barley by constantly whisking it to prevent from sticking to the pot. It should take about 15 minutes. Barley is a good source of protein and folate and its consistency is ideal for cereals (if grounded). For older children, you can cook the grains without milling in soups.
2. In a bowl mash the banana and then the kiwi. Add the fruit puree to the barley and stir, add a little milk (optional). For very young babies less than 6 months old you may want to remove the black seeds from the kiwi to prevent indigestion.
