Millet and Fruit Cereal | for Babies 6 Months Up

Vegetable oil

1 ripe apple or any other fruit pureed

½ tbsp millet grain

Pinch of cinnamon powder

Water for cooking

1. Toast the millet grains in a little oil in a pan till brownish. Add water, and bring to a boil and let it simmer over low flame till the grains are fluff and soft, and water has been absorbed.

2. You may add fruit puree such as pear, melon, apple to vary the taste or even serve it on its own. Even vegetables such as pureed carrots, mashed pumpkin can be used in addition or in place of fruits

3. Sprinkle cinnamon over it and serve.

Millet is rich in vitamins and minerals and added to that, it is versatile and can be used as substitute for rice dishes. In powder form millet makes good breakfast porridge with fruits.
