What can I add to my baby's meals to help her gain weight?
Healthy snacking in between meals will help your baby
during this period of rapid growth. Healthy foods such
as eggs, cream cheese, nut butters, ground seeds etc
are healthy ways to increase calories and are nutritionally
sound as well. There are many unhealthy foods (processed
and fat/sugar laden foods and drinks) out there which
are poor in nutrients but may help in weight gain. However
in the long run you are fostering a bad habit. Instead
it is wise to help your baby become a healthy snacker.
Food fats and protein foods offered along with his regular
meals may help your child gain weight as well as inculcate
a long-term good habit. Bananas, cheese toast, plain
pasta with soft cheese, scrambled egg yolks, mashed
potatoes are some examples of excellent snacks.
