What
should I introduce once my baby is eating pureed fruits
and vegetables?
Once your baby has adjusted to this texture it is time
to move on to lumpier thicker food. It is also time
to vary the taste by introducing meat, fish, tofu and
lentils (protein-rich foods). You will not need to puree
the food anymore since the texture is now going to be
lumpier. Persevere even if your baby gags in the start
and in a matter of time she will get used to this texture.
It is also necessary to offer your baby a balanced diet
by ensuring there is protein (mashed meat or lentils),
carbohydrates (potatoes, rice, pasta etc), dairy (cheese,
yogurt) and also the fruits and veggies she is already
familiar with. Don't lose hope when she rejects in the
beginning; give your baby time to adjust to the new
taste and texture.
