Can something be done about itchy, inflamed skin in the folds of my skin i.e. under the breasts and inner thigh areas?

You could be suffering from intertrigo, a fungal infection which causes the folds of skin to rub against each other. It is more common in obese women and more concentrated in areas where skin fold is more obvious such as under the breasts and between the inner thighs. When perspiration occurs and doesn't evaporate the skin becomes red and irritated. Check with your doctor on appropriate anti-fungal cream. You may also use calamine lotion or hydrocortisone ointment to treat the rash. In addition to that you can manage the condition by rinsing the affected areas frequently and powdering cornstarch to help keep the area perspiration-free.
