My doctor said that morning sickness is not really all that bad, why?

Firstly mild to moderate nausea is one of the early signs of pregnancy. Queasiness can manifest as early as 2 weeks after conception or more typically after a month to 6 weeks into pregnancy. So although you will feel lousy there is nothing you can do about it since it is an inevitable part of pregnancy. Some researchers go as far as to suggest a link between having mild to moderate morning sickness with a lower chance of miscarrying though there is nothing concrete to support this. Therefore, in a normal pregnancy, morning sickness in early pregnancy is thought to be associated with a stable outcome. Since the nausea signals that an abundant amount of hcg is present, it is more likely there is an adequate supply of progesterone to prevent a miscarriage.
