Tofu & Egg Recipe Treats for Babies Aged 9 Months up
Tofu is derived from Soya beans. It provides iron, calcium
and protein but because it is a complex protein, baby's immature
tummy will have some problems digesting it, so it is best
given to baby from 8 months onwards. Soy is a potential allergen
food and therefore it is important to follow the 4 day rule
as with any other allergen foods. Do not offer it to your
baby if you know your baby has soy allergy.

Egg
Eggs, are a common allergen, especially the whites. It is
best to wait until baby turns a year old before offering the
whole egg to your baby. You may introduce just the yolk after
your baby turns 8 months. Scrambled eggs prepared on low heat
till set is the best way to cook eggs for babies. Hard boiled
eggs are harder to digest and raw eggs are a no-no at this
age to avoid the possible bacterial infection. Having said
that it is good to know that the protein rich egg also provides
key vitamins such as the B group of vitamins, Vitamin A &
D, and also happen to contain the monounsaturated, polyunsaturated
and saturated fats in the correct proportion.
