I heard it is common to poop during labor. What if I poop on the delivery table?

It is a common fear since many women poop during childbirth. But again many don't. This is because you don't eat much during the last days of pregnancy; in fact some women lose weight. Secondly before labor or during labor you may have diarrhea or even throw up - Mother Nature's way of emptying your system of everything. For those who do poop, it usually happens in the pushing stage of labor. It won't be much and it will be cleaned up before you even realize what has happened. Medical staff is too used to women pooping and always keep sterile cloths handy for such episodes. It is advisable to visit the washroom often in early labor. Try to go even if you don't feel much urge.
